Special train for FC Hansa Rostock's away match in Berlin

Press release of the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour

Schwerin, 11 April 2024 With an additional train, Deutsche Bahn (DB) Regio is offering football fans and all other passengers on the Berlin - Rostock route an additional journey option at short notice on Friday to relieve the regular service. Transport Minister Reinhard Meyer expressed his thanks for the willingness to create the additional capacity ordered by the state on the route at short notice: "As we are expecting a large number of football fans to attend the away match in Berlin, it is the right thing to do to relieve the pressure on rail traffic between Berlin and Rostock by providing an additional train."

The special train on Friday (12.04.24) is running:

  • from Berlin Gesundbrunnen 22:00 - to Rostock Hbf 00:02

The relief train will only stop in Neustrelitz and Waren (Müritz) and will have a larger capacity than the trains normally travelling between Berlin and Rostock. "We ask Hansa supporters travelling by train to use the additional train for their return journey. A generally valid ticket - for example the Deutschland-Ticket - is sufficient for the journey. The costs for the additional service will be borne by the states of Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern."
