VMV-Verkehrsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and DB Regio AG are expecting increased passenger volumes on 30 June 2024 and 1 July 2024 due to the departure of the FUSION festival from Neustrelitz in the direction of Berlin. To this end, Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH (VBB), VMV-Verkehrsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mbH and the FUSION organiser have ordered up to three special trains with extended double-decker trains (up to 8 carriages) from Neustrelitz Hbf to Berlin-Lichtenberg and a special train with 5 double-decker carriages from Neustrelitz Hbf to Berlin Südkreuz from DB Regio for both days in addition to the regular RE5 line service. In addition, another single-unit multiple-unit train with two vehicle units will be available on Sunday 30 June.
Depending on local demand, these trains can run between late afternoon and midnight. With the exception of the late-night train, all trains run from Neustrelitz Hbf to Berlin-Lichtenberg without any further stops. The late-night train runs from Neustrelitz Hbf with stops in Oranienburg, Berlin-Gesundbrunnen, Berlin Hbf and Berlin Potsdamer Platz to Berlin Südkreuz.
The deployment of the trains is managed operationally between the Federal Police, DB InfraGo and DB Regio via a coordinator on site, depending on the departure flows.
We ask FUSION participants to prioritise the special trains. All other travellers should expect an increased number of passengers. For a more relaxed journey, we recommend alternative travel days.
