Hagenow, 22 November 2024 At Hagenow Land station, the "Creation of double track Hagenow Land" project was successfully completed by DB InfraGO after a total construction period from March to December. A single-track bottleneck area between two points was resolved with a new track section. Almost 300 metres of new track and a total of nine new points were installed in the station.
In addition to creating double tracks, points were also renewed at Hagenow-Land station as part of the construction work. Extensive adjustments were also made to the signal box technology and the overhead line system. Four culverts were renewed between Ludwigslust and Pritzier.
In order to minimise restrictions for passengers, the line closure during the main construction phase of the work between Hamburg and Schwerin was used as part of the renovation project.
With the implementation of these measures, the conditions are now in place for a more stable and reliable journey time on the Hamburg - Hagenow-Land - Schwerin route. The resolution of the bottleneck is the basis for the planned further development of the journey time cycle to the Deutschlandtakt.
The total cost of the project was 25 million euros, of which the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern financed 0.75 million euros.
