Set course for the 33rd Hanse Sail!

Press release of the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour
Meyer: Public transport services strengthened

As in previous years, the state finances and orders additional transport services for the Rostock S-Bahn and on routes in the surrounding area for the Hanse Sail. "The Hanse Sail is a flagship event and attracts thousands of guests from all over the world every year. The Hanseatic city of Rostock presents itself as an attractive centre for national and international encounters. In order to ensure that guests and locals have as stress-free a journey as possible, we have increased the range of local public transport services," said Reinhard Meyer, Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour.

The service on the main line of the Rostock S-Bahn is being increased. On Saturday (10 August) and Sunday (11 August), the S-Bahn trains will run every seven and a half minutes during the day. Around three quarters of the train journeys will be offered with two coupled multiple units, thus doubling the seating capacity. The frequency of the S-Bahn will also be increased in the evenings. On the nights from Friday (9 August) to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday, trains will run continuously at least every half hour.

Additional trains will also be offered in the evenings on the S2 line to Güstrow (departing from Rostock Central Station at 23:02 on Friday and Saturday and 00:14 on Saturday and Sunday) and the RB12 line to Graal-Müritz (departing from Rostock Central Station at 20:10 on Saturday and 23:20).

"The Deutschland-Ticket is the ideal choice for travelling to and from the largest maritime festival in our federal state. There's no better way to travel sustainably," said Meyer.

The Deutschland-Ticket costs 49 euros for a season ticket. Senior citizens resident in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and trainees can purchase a Deutschland-Ticket subscription for just 29 euros thanks to financial support from the state.

Timetable information "MV FÄHRT GUT"

The state-wide timetable information app "MV FÄHRT GUT" for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern takes into account all changes to the new timetable. The state's free app contains all public transport timetable data in M-V and is available for Android and iOS (www.fahrplanauskunft-mv.de).
